I’m Rudie Watzig, and I’m running for the Centennial School Board because I believe our schools deserve fresh ideas, strong leadership, and a renewed focus on student success.
As a father of three kids currently enrolled in Centennial schools—one in elementary, one in middle school, and one in high school—I understand how important it is to have a school system that supports academic growth, extracurricular opportunity, and a strong sense of community.
My priorities are simple:
Academic excellence that prepares students for life after graduation
Stronger community engagement to rebuild trust and pride in our schools
Support for after-school activities that keep kids connected and families involved
I’m proud to be endorsed by the Oregon School Employees Association (OSEA), and I’m currently the Vice President of Centennial Youth Football. When our league was at risk of folding, I worked with other families to rebuild it—boosting youth participation and community spirit. Now, two of our teams are league champions. That same dedication is what I’ll bring to the school board.
Professionally, I work in IT, solving complex problems and improving systems every day. I bring those same skills—problem-solving, innovation, and teamwork—to public service.
I believe in Centennial, and I believe we can build something even better—together.
